This paint job was pretty straight forward, but the most interesting part about this particular project was the hardwood floors. The floors were pre-engineered and technically weren’t supposed to be resurface-able. The Hull’s initial plan was to throw them out, since big dogs and moving heavy furniture across the floors throughout the years had left the floors in pretty rough shape. Although they appeared to be oak, they were actually about 1/4″ of oak laminated on plywood. I knew if I sanded them too heavily, I’d have to do some creative faux work to re-create the look of oak boards. Even so, I suggested the Hull’s give me a crack at ’em and see what I could do. The results speak for themselves.
“I am so pleased with the quality of work and professionalism of Troy Stevens at Stelzer Painting, Inc. He was hired to do a very difficult painting job involving varying ceiling heights and very damaged trim work, but he did such a fantastic job that the large area looks brand new. We were so happy with the expert techniques and quality of his work, that we asked him to tackle resurfacing a very damaged wooden floor. What a job he did. Troy sets a very, very reasonable price for his work. We have used him several times–he has painted the outside of four of our homes and the inside of two of them. He is so honest and trustworthy, that when he painted the inside of our homes, we gave him the keys and we left town only to return to beautifully painted and safe homes. I could not more highly recommend this responsive, careful, and superior worker.”
