This design painting project was for long-time customers of mine, Mr. and Mrs. Best, who I absolutely adore. Mrs. Best gave me a rough idea of the dimensions of the diamonds she wanted in her master bedroom. After suggesting several options, we decided to only paint one accent wall. We also painted diamonds in the master bathroom as well. In both cases, Mrs. Best was adamant that there were no partial diamonds at the top, bottom or sides of the wall. My homework consisted of a scratch pad and my best recollection of the Pythagorean Theorem I used way back in high school to come up with appropriate sizes. The diamonds in the master bath were painted with two separate colors. The diamonds in the master bedroom are simply a base coat with a gloss polyurethane applied over-top where the diamonds or stripes are located. The most challenging part of this job was trying to figure out how to either trace or transfer a pattern on a wall which was a very heavy orange-peel.
